On the 5th of September, 2019, the Association of People with Disability and Association of Karnataka collaborated with the Department of Social Work, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Bengaluru to observe International Spinal Cord Injury Day in the Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. The three students of 2nd BSW of St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru we’re a part of it. The trainees and volunteers were given an orientation on spinal cord injury. The theme of the Spinal Cord Injury Day, 2019 was “Living life to the fullest." Some of the activities that were conducted were wheelchair race, shot-put javelin throw, and hunt for survival (a food contest). Then, at the end of the day, a few of the survivors shared their experiences of living with this condition. This was followed by a distribution of prizes for the winners of the contests.
