The session was held on 15/04/2021 at 5:00pm considering the Birth Anniversary of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, Indian social reformer . The session was emceed by Sr.Christine and moderated by The dean of School of Social Work, Fr. Augustine. To perceive the blessings of God throughout the session Miss Sheba from 2nd BSW started with a prayer song. Dr. Shari Tess Mathew, gave a heartwarming welcome speech and welcomed the resource person to the session. Miss Ashwarya from 1 MSW gave a detailed introduction of the speaker to the participants.
Mr. Rajendra Prabhakar is the
Executive Director of MARGA and have been giving lectures to different schools
and colleges on the ideology and the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He particularly
focuses on the struggle that Baba Sahib did for minority community in India.
During the one hour long session with
Mr. Rajendra he talked about his foundation called MARGA and its work through
out the years. Moreover he talked about the struggles that Ambedkar did for
India in a detailed way. He highlighted the incidents where Dr. Ambedkar fought
for Dalits rights and made history by fighting against the caste system. The
session was summarized by the Dean of the School of Social Work Fr.Augustine by
pointing out some of the important takeaways from the session. Vote of thanks
was given by the program coordinator of SWSA Mr. Harris from 2nd BSW.
